Decorating a Round Table

The beauty of a round table lies in its smooth curves and flowing lines, so why choose angular shapes in your table linens to decorate this type of table?

A  more pleasing effect can be obtained by using round shapes, such as a doily or centerpiece cut in a circle for the center of your table.

If you would like to add placemats, the most practical choice is a set of curved wedge-shaped placemats, which will fit perfectly on a round table as they are wider at the outside edge and narrower toward the center of the table. Oval placemats are also a nice shape to use.

Depending on the diameter of your table, up to six wedge shaped placemats will fit on a round table. Add a small (12") matching round placemat or doily for the center of the table to complete the look - both pretty and practical!
