How to use our secure shopping cart

We think that our cart is pretty straightforward and easy-to-use, but there are just a few things you will need to know.

If you would like to change the quantity of one of the items in the cart, you can type over the number in the quantity box, but you will have to then click on the "recalculate" button at the bottom of the screen - otherwise your change will not get recorded.

Similarly, if you would like to delete an item, change the quantity to zero (0) and click on "recalculate"; then the item will be removed from your cart.

For custom orders, or anytime you need to give extra information or send us a message with your order, please put your requests / fabric choices / product dimensions in the "Special Requests" box on the screen.  Be sure to click on the "recalculate" button, or your requests will not be saved.

Our shopping cart is not "smart enough" to be able to add in the shipping charges, so they will be added after you've submitted your order.

Please be sure to type your email address and phone number carefully! You will receive an automated email confirmation of your order (usually within a few minutes). If the email address you've provided is invalid, the order confirmation will not reach you. Also, depending on your "junk mail" filtering system on your computer, the order confirmation might be directed to your bulk mail (spam) folder.

Most importantly, your credit card is not charged right away when submit your order. The cart only collects the details about your order: the items you want, your name, billing and shipping address, and payment information.  We - the friendly humans at this end of the computer - have to review your order and make sure that everything you've ordered is in stock, and that we have a proper name and address to send the order to. (Yes, sometimes customers do forget to completely fill in all the blanks!) If everything is okay, then we charge your card and send your order on its way. If we have questions, we will contact you by phone or email (another reason to type carefully). If paying by credit card,
custom orders
will not be charged until the items are ready (see our current turnaround times on custom sewing here).

Please note that the screen where we collect the credit card information is secure, as well as the following screen which gives you an order confirmation number. How can you tell it's secure? Two ways: look for the little "padlock" icon in the lower corner of your screen, and also note that the web address begins with "https" instead of just "http". Since these are the only two screens which have "sensitive" information, they are the only screens which need to be secure (SSL encrypted).
